Albert G. Clark - my Uncle Albert - was a physically daunting man with a huge heart. He was there when I was born, carrying me and caring for me. He was there when my brothers, and my sister and I were growing up - even babysitting all of us when our parents went to Europe. He was our teacher and our friend. He taught me to love the stars, showing me the heavens with his telescope. He taught me to love model trains and motorcycles- unusual interests for a girl. He gave me my first pearl necklace at 13, which made me feel so grown up. He was there when I married, and when I had my children. Mary came late into his life, and I was happy for him, but also a bit jealous. We had always had our Uncle Albert, and now he was going to have his own family. My memory of him will always be of the eighth grade science teacher - dressed in black leather - sitting on his Harley Davidson. . We will miss you, Uncle Albert. Kimberly Medlin
