On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, Angela Rangel, loving mother, daughter, and sister passed away at the age of 35. Her laugh and bright smile was contagious. Angela Yun Shim Rangel was born May 4, 1985 in Pusan, South Korea. She made the long trip to the United States in 1988 to join our family as the baby of Guadalupe and Janda Rangel and sister to her adoring siblings Joshua Rangel and Amy (Rangel) Allison. Angela was contemplative and serious even as a preschooler, which we found endearing. When we laughed at her seriousness she'd respond with "I'm serious!" which would make us laugh even more. As she matured so did her sense of humor. She became the comedian of our family, constantly making us laugh. Her sense of humor will be greatly missed. One of her greatest accomplishments was climbing half dome in Yosemite twice, once with her dad when she was only 12 and the second time, at age 14, on her own. Once her mind was set she was a determined young lady. Her children, A.J. age 5 and Maya, age 3 were the light of her life. Angela and Maya liked to shop and paint their nails, while A.J. liked to show off on the play structure for her. He sometimes scared her crazy with his tricks. These kids meant the world to her. She is survived by her parents, Guadalupe and Janda Rangel, her children Aleksander and Maya, brother Joshua Rangel, sister-in-law Amy Rangel, sister Amy (Rangel) Allison, brother-in-law Jeff Allison as well as her niece and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
