Ann (Andania) Nicolaou was born in 1922 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts to parents James and Olga Kyriakopoulos. Her father and mother were immigrants from Greece and had met and married in the United States in 1919. The family owned a chicken ranch where her mother's sisters also lived with their husbands and children. She always recalled the fun times the family had on the ranch living together - six adults and 11 children. Eventually her family moved to Fitchburg and her father bought a restaurant/bar. Ann met her husband to be during WWII and married Ted Nicolaou right after WWII on May 19, 1946. In 1947 they welcomed their first child Elaine. They moved to San Francisco in 1950 where her father had relocated. In 1951, son John was born and later in 1955 their second daughter Marianne. Ted and Ann bought their first new home in South San Francisco in 1955 and lived there and in San Bruno, a neighboring town, until they moved to Sacramento in 1972. Ann worked for the State of California and Ted worked for the telephone company before both retired while living in Cameron Park, CA. CHURCH SERVICE: 11 a.m. Wednesday May 20 at the Greek Orthodox Church on Alhambra in Sacramento. Interment will follow the church service and be held at Green Valley Cemetary in Rescue California.
