August Maurice Colombo passed away peacefully in his home on October 7th, 2018 at the wise old age of 98. Born on June 22, 1920 in Geneva, NY, he is remembered by his family as an incredibly caring husband, father of four, grandfather of ten, and great-grandfather of six. August lived a long, happy life spent working his hardest to support the family he loved. With wits as strong as steel, August adored tinkering with mechanics, solving entire books of Sudoku puzzles, and defeating all of his family members at checkers. Early on in his life, August earned a Bachelor's degree from Buffalo State University and a Master's degree from the University of Southern California. He later became an aerospace instrumental engineer, and his passion for mathematics and problem solving is carried on through his family. August is survived by his brother, Tony Colombo, and his four sons, Alan, Mark, Terry, and Dale. We will all miss him very much. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at the Green Valley Mortuary & Cemetery on Friday, October 26th at 3004 Alexandrite Drive, Rescue, CA. The service will be held at 11:30am.
