El Dorado Hills, California - Barbara Cordier Black December 22, 1949 to May 12, 2026 With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Barbara Cordier Black on May 12, 2026, at the age of 76. Barbara was the heart of her family and a source of warmth, kindness, and joy to everyone who knew her. She had a beautiful way of making people feel welcome, whether through her infectious laugh, her bright smile, or the open door she always kept for family and friends. Her greatest happiness came from the people she loved most. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, John Harrel Black Jr.; her sons, Noah Cordier Black and James Tyler Black; her daughter in law, Janie Alderete Black; her beloved grandchildren, Caden Lee Black, Andrew John Black, Charlie Alderete Black, and Zoey Alderete Black; her sister, Carol Cordier Rawlings, and brotherin-law, Gary Rawlings. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Garfield Cordier III and her parents Lee Garf ield Cordier II and Jean Hellar Cordier. Barbara loved spending time near the ocean, where piness. She treasured every moment with her family, especially cheering on her sons and grandchildren at countless sporting events and family gatherings. Her love and support never wavered, and her presence made every occasion more meaningful. Throughout her life, Barbara dedicated herself to her community and family. She proudly served as President of the Junior League of Sacramento and President of the Rio Americano Boosters, where she built lasting friendships and gave generously of her time and energy. More than anything, Barbara will be remembered for her loving heart, her grace, and the way she always put family first. Her kindness touched many lives, and the memories she created will live on through the family and friends who loved her dearly. A Celebration of Life honoring Barbara will be held on June 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Life Time Arden, 1220 Arden Hills Lane, Sacramento, Ca 95864.
