Billie Elizabeth Hadley March 29, 1935 -- Aug. 23, 2016 Billie Elizabeth Hadley passed away at home on Aug. 23, 2016, at her home in Camino, Calif., at the age of 81. She was born March 29, 1935, in Daytona Beach, Fla., to John and Agnes Clark. She moved with her family to California as a child, and met the love of her life Emil Forrest Hadley while attending Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, Calif. The two were married in Austin, Texas, while Forrest was in the U.S. Air Force, but settled in the San Francisco Bay Area, raising their four children in San Pablo. Billie earned her master's degree in early childhood education from San Jose State and devoted her career to teaching. Upon retiring, the couple built a home and lived in Camino for the remainder of their lives. Forrest and Billie loved the outdoors, spending their retirement years camping all over the western states. They also became devoted members of the Placerville Nazarene Church. Billie was a teacher at heart and spent many hours with the children at the church. She was an amazing influence to all who knew her, especially the children. She was a loving, selfless, beautiful woman who truly enjoyed being a blessing to the people around her. Billie also loved animals and put water out for the wildlife that lived in the forest around her home. She delighted seeing deer, bears, mountain lion, turkeys and many other forest creatures when they came near to drink. She was never afraid and enjoyed cohabitating with the wild animals. Her dogs and cats were her constant companions as well. Billie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Forrest; her brother, John Milton Clark; and grandson, Robert Walters. She is survived by her sister, Susan Zak; her four children, Steven Hadley, Patricia Walters, Diane Garland and Cynthia Medina; grandchildren, Cole, Sean, Liam, Jack, Tamara and Amber; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at the Placerville Nazarene Church on Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. There will be a luncheon after the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Placerville Nazarene Church or El Dorado Animal Services Pet Aid Fund; call (530) 621-5795 for details.
