Our sweet and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend Carmen Celia Measom Tuttle returned home on Friday August 13, 2010 at the age of 80. She was born February 19, 1930 in Spanish Fork, Utah to James Atkinson Measom and Celia Terese Wilde. She graduated from Spanish Fork High in 1949 and attended Brigham Young University. She married her sweetheart Allen H Tuttle on July 26, 1950 in the Idaho Falls temple. They were blessed with six children, Shauna (Ken) Geddes, Preston, Idaho; Jeffery Allen (Eileen) Tuttle, Springville, Ut; Pamela (Nigel) Taylor, Rescue, Ca; Terry James (Donna) Tuttle, Shingle Springs, Ca; Gregory Kent (Marti) Tuttle, El Dorado Hills, Ca; Markham Dean (Melissa) Tuttle, Pleasant Grove, Ut. They have 28 Grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren. Her children and Grand children were the joy of her life. Carmen has resided in El Dorado County for the past 47 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and dedicated her life to serving others; through both the church and community. She served on the school board of the Placerville School Dist. She loved working with the youth and served three full time missions with her husband to Zimbabwe, West Indies and Kenya. Carmen loved flowers and fresh flowers were always in her home. She and Allen enjoyed traveling; sometimes to amazing places but usually to sporting events involving children, grandchildren or BYU. They had many wonderful experiences. Her greatest trait was unconditional love for each individual she met. All who knew her felt her love and acceptance. She is survived by her loving husband Allen; her children and their spouses; her grand-children and great grandchildren, and brother Jay Measom, Spanish Fork, Utah. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Myrna Giles, and great-grandson Kai. A public viewing for family and friends will be held Monday August 16th from 6 to 8 p.m.at the Green Valley Mortuary in Cameron Park, Ca. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3431 Hacienda Dr, Cameron Park, Ca. Graveside services will be held Friday August 20, 10 a.m. at the Spanish Fork Cemetery, Spanish Fork, Utah. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork Cemetery. The children wish to thank their Dad, Allen, for his unconditional love and care of their mother. We also wish to thank Damallie Kakumba for her love and service, the Bass Lake Ward members and #1Fan. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Perpetual Education or Humanitarian Funds of theChurch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
