Carolyn Jones-Labahn (Rose), of Lovelock, Nevada passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, at the age of 86.
Born on February 3, 1940, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to David and Thelma Rose. Carolyn lived in the Carmichael/Fair Oaks/Placerville areas in California for the majority of her life. She graduated from El Camino High School in 1958.
In February of 1959, Carolyn married her first husband, Carter Jones, and together they built a loving family. Following Carter’s passing, she found love again and married Ray Labahn on June 5, 2004. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing.
Carolyn was well known in her community for her years as an Avon representative, where she built lasting friendships with customers who appreciated not only her service but also her warm personality and caring heart.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. As a Master Gardener, Carolyn took great pride in nurturing flowers and creating beautiful outdoor spaces. She also loved painting, expressing her creativity through art, and was always eager to share her talents with those around her. She was a lover of all animals from her cats and dogs to her chickens and horses.
A devoted woman of faith, Carolyn was an active member in the Lutheran church, where she found strength, purpose, and fellowship. Her faith guided the way she lived her life.
Above all else, Carolyn cherished her family. She is lovingly survived by her son, Ken Jones (Judy), her daughter, Kathy Stewart (Carey), her cherished grandchildren: Jason (Kara), Jeffrey (Taylar), Jessica (James), Jennifer, and Kyle (Perri), and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Thelma, her first husband, Carter, her second husband, Ray, and her brother Robert.
Carolyn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, creative heart, faith, and unconditional love for her family and friends. Her legacy lives in the gardens she grew, the paintings she created, the lives she touched, and the memories she leaves behind. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and example will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Carolyn’s will be buried at Green Valley Cemetery, in Rescue, California. The family has elected not to hold a service.
