Cody Lonbaken

–

Placerville, California

Cody Clifford Lonbaken passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2025, at the painfully young age of 25. Born Sept. 20th, 2000 and raised in Placerville, California, Cody lived life with an energy and laughter that will be impossible to forget.

From the time he could walk, Cody had a ball in his hands — playing football throughout his childhood and high school years, where he built lifelong friendships and memories. After graduating from Union Mine High School, he was happiest surrounded by nature, doing what he loved most — camping with family, spending summer days at the river fishing and jumping off rocks, or swimming in his Mormor’s pool with all his siblings and cousins. He loved playing disc golf, attending countless family BBQs and bonfires, and chasing adventure on his scooter, snowboard, or surfboard. Whether carving through Tahoe snow or catching waves in Maui, Cody found peace and joy in every moment outdoors.

He had a silly, goofy personality that could make anyone laugh, even on their hardest days. Cody loved with his whole heart and had a way of lighting up a room just by walking through the door. His kindness, humor, and genuine spirit left an imprint on everyone who knew him.

Cody is survived by his loving mother, Maggie Hamman, and stepfather, Chris Hamman; his father, Clint Lonbaken, and stepmother, Kasey Lonbaken; his Mormor, Helen Brady-Taylor, and Poppop, John Taylor; his Nana, Brenda Hamman; his grandpa, Clifford Lonbaken; his sisters, Connor Hamman, Kylee Barham, Madison Hamman, Morgan Hamman, and Molly Lonbaken; his little brother, CJ Hamman; his nephew, Adam Gilmore; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were like family and who will forever cherish his memory.

Services will be held on October 13th, 2025 with a viewing and funeral starting at 10:00am at Green Valley Mortuary and ending at El Dorado Community Hall for a celebration from 2:00-6:00pm. In honor of Cody’s adventurous spirit, the family encourages everyone to share their favorite memories and stories — the way Cody would have wanted: with laughter, love, and maybe a little mischief.
