After a five-year battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, Daniel C. Segalas passed away, August 29, 2024, at his home in Folsom, California. Cook; his grandchildren Spencer Gannon, Noelle Bogart, Charles Cook, Parker Cook, Peter Cook and Ryder Cook; his great-grandchild Macie Gannon.
Dan grew up in Arden Park and graduated from El Camino High School, in 1965. In 1970 he earned his bachelor’s degree in social science at California State University, Sacramento and, in 1983, completed his master’s degree at Chapman University in correction counseling.
Dan’s career spanned over 50 years. Dan was a native of Sacramento County until 1995, at which time, he moved to El Dorado Hills and lived there twenty-nine years. He and his wife, Patti, moved to Folsom, Sacramento County, in May of 2024. Dan (papa) loved his family and looked forward to trips with the family to the beach, skiing, and golfing. He enjoyed softball, baseball, golf, camping, fishing, the opera and the symphony. He was an avid supporter and participant of his grandchildren’s interests. He was a lifelong SF Giants and 49er fan. Dan is described as a “good man who cared for many” and will be greatly missed by his family and friends; to know him was to love him.
