Dawn Carol Donnan Obituary (1955

Dawn left us all too soon on Sunday, April 12, 2020. Dawn, a loving and beautiful individual, was born in Saginaw, Michigan to Earl and Patricia Getchel, on January 25, 1955. Dawn was a middle child, and enjoyed growing up with her 7 brothers and sisters, in a warm, loving and strong family. Her travels as a young adult lead her to Los Angeles, and later, Sacramento, California, where she worked as an insurance underwriter and eventually would meet her future husband, Jeff. Business demands brought her back to Southern California, where she gave birth to a son, Jake, in 1990. Her love and devotion as a mother were truly wonderful. She enjoyed watching him as he has grown up, providing all the direction, love and guidance that a son would need to shape his life to help create the strong, well grounded man that he has become. After years in Southern California, retirement brought her back to the Sierra foothills of Northern California. There she enjoyed walking and hiking through the forest, reading novels, and traveling extensively. She remained in close contact with her family across the country and friends locally and from Los Angeles, and enjoyed visiting and her adventures with them. Throughout her lifetime, Dawn was a compassionate and loving individual. She was a loyal, loving friend, companion, life partner and wonderful wife to her husband, a devoted mother, who would do anything and more for her child, and a great friend to those who were fortunate to know her. The world is a much better place due to Dawn's presence, as her untimely passing has created a void that will never be filled. She is and will be greatly missed. I know she is in a better place now, and wish her everlasting peace. She is loved, and will always be on our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. A memorial service and reception will take place at the Green Valley Chapel, and will be followed by a reception. The dates will be determined once gatherings have been approved.
