\tDorothy Emily Holbrook Busath, passed away on March 21, 2023. She was born April 20, 1926, in Sparks Nevada to Edward and Loris Holbrook. Her family moved to Sacramento, California when she was 7 years old. There she attended Washington School, Kit Carson Junior High School and graduated from Sacramento High School. She also attended about 2 years at Sacramento Junior College. She met Stephen Richard (Dick) Busath and married in 1947 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Later in life she served as PTA president for Earl Warren Elementary School. She worked as a school secretary at Newton Booth School, a medical assistant for Dr. R. Bay Hutchings. She also was a bookkeeper for several businesses.\n\tDorothy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various calling throughout her life. She loved serving and helping others. She served two missions, the first in the Alabama Birmingham Mission (1979-1981) and the second in the Missouri Independence Mission (1988-1989). She served for several years as a temple worker in the Oakland Temple. Dorothy was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed and cherished her friendships with her fellow members and loved learning the rich history of our Pioneers.\n\tDorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, sisters Joy Busath and Marian Peterson, and daughter-in-law, Claudia Busath. She is survived by her sister, Susan Fullmer of Sacramento, Bonnie (Don) Pebbles of Sacramento, California, Shirley (Bruce) Waltz of Carson City, Nevada, Stephen (Kathi) Busath of Meridian, Idaho, Judy (Robert) Welge of Washoe Valley, Nevada, Barton Busath of Pleasanton, Utah, Marian Lindsey of Sacramento, California, and Joseph (Alice) Busath of Elk Grove, California. She has 30 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and MANY nieces and nephews.\n\tA graveside ceremony will be held for family at the Quiet Haven Cemetery, 10 am Friday, March 31, 2023. The Memorial Service will be held following, at 11 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 3001 Wisseman Drive, Sacramento, California, 95826. Any flower deliveries, please deliver to the church after 9 am on Friday.
