On November 21, 1938, Edward L. Street was born in Jolo, West Virginia to Samuel and Violet Street. After serving his country as a member of the United States Air Force, he built himself a full life in the state California. It was here that he would meet his sweetheart, Ruth Morgan, on an unexpecting train ride. Edward and Ruth married and stayed side-by-side for nearly 60 years.\n\nEd served a fulfilling career in the electric power industry. He spend 35 years with San Diego Gas & Electric, proving to be a smart worker with a strong motor. In attempt at retirement, his skills and work ethic were greatly recognized, and he was recruited to help jumpstart California ISO (Independent System Operator). He relocated his family to Folsom, California, where he worked for another 15 years and ultimately settled down with his sweet wife.\n\nHe lived in a manner that reflected the care and loyalty he had for those in his life. Those who knew him would describe him to be friendly, loyal, positive, enduring, and - as Ruth likes to describe him - tricky. He had a creative mind, interested in taking up new skills and hobbies. He particularly enjoyed wood working, a skill he would take up in his fourties.\n\nAfter fighting dementia at the end of his life, Edward entered into rest on the morning of June 6, 2022. He will be greatly missed by the wide net of colleagues, neighbors and family he inspired throughout his life.
