Betty Parker was born in Martinsville, Indiana on August 29, 1929, and grew up there. She attended Indiana University in Bloomington where she majored in music. She met Victor Locasio, a music minor, and they were married on November 22, 1950. After they graduated, they moved to Gary, Indiana where Victor got a job with US Steel. His next job with the consulting firm Booz Allen and Hamilton meant living in Wales, Germany, and then England. Daughter Ann Lee was born in 1959, and Lisa Beth followed a year later. Victor Wayne was born 7 years after that. The family moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil, before finally returning to Betty and Vic's home state of Indiana before settling near Cleveland, Ohio. Betty created a wonderful home for the 3 children as they grew up, and taught piano. Victor Wayne was still at home 10 years later in 1985 when they moved to the San Francisco Bay area. Victor retired from Bank of America in 1991 and, after a whirlwind tour of the US and Mexico they selected St. George, Utah as their retirement residence. Betty and Victor got involved with the Good Shepherd Presbyterian church in St. George and they still traveled quite a bit. They hosted friends from all over the world that they had met in their travels. In 2007 Betty and Vic moved back to California. Victor passed away that same year. Betty moved to Folsom to be near her son Victor Wayne as she had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Betty passed away peacefully on Monday from complications of the disease. We miss her but we're glad her spirit is finally free.
