Evelyn Nell Leonard, recently of El Dorado Hills, CA, passed away at age 94 on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Born Evelyn Brandis in Chicago, Illinois, she met the love of her life at a USO dance and married A. Leslie Leonard in 1947. Evy and Les raised six children in Scotch Plains, NJ, and retired to Sun City Center, FL, before relocating to Folsom, CA. Preceded in death in 2011 by her husband, Evelyn leaves behind daughters Janice Cameron of Folsom, CA, Joyce (Greg) Alumbaugh of Rescue, CA, Nancy (Tom) Gale of Somerset, NJ, Laurie (Larry Johnson) Leonard of Missoula, MT, and two sons, Robert (Rae) Leonard of Akron, OH and Lawrence (Betsy) Leonard of Virginia Beach, VA. She was also a proud grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of five. An avid traveler, nature-lover, and life-long-learner, Evelyn valued family, fun, and adventures, and was very much loved.
