George was born in November of 1933 in West Virginia. His family moved around a lot during his younger years. He eventually ended up in Long Beach California where he attended Wilson High School. It was there that he met the love of his live, Doris. After high school George was accepted at Humbolt State College where he studied Forest Management until the practical necessities of having a family forced him to drop out of college and find employment. He and Doris ended up bacK in Long Beach California where they worked and raised their family. It was around 1988 that he was given the opportunity to transfer to a job located in the Sacramento area and it was then that they moved to Shingle Springs. George built stables to keep his horses and he and Doris lived there along with their daughter Eleanor and her family enjoying the beauty of the surrounding area until Doris passed away in 2010. George and his daughter Eleanor and her family continued to live on the property after his wife passed away. George was retired and kept himself busy tending to his horses and his constant companion, a yellow lab named Rush. His daughter Lorrine and her family and his son Andrew and his family would enjoy visits from time to time. Coming up to enjoy their fathers company and everything the surrounding area had to offer. They would spend time taking drives in the country visiting some of the many wineries in the area and basically just spending time together. In recent years George could be found almost every evening sitting in his easy chair watching Fox news and afterwards enjoying one of his favorite old time movies on the television with Rush laying by his side, up until almost the day he passed away. George will be missed terribly. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great friend and was a one of a kind.
