Gloria Abramson was born in Winona, Michigan on April 6, 1924, the eldest of four children, to William and Helmi Pietila. She passed away on June 15, 2011 at Lake View Residential Care in El Dorado Hills, her home for the past two and a half years. A special thank you to owner Elena Pashina and her caring staff, especially Tina and Larisa. She was preceded in death by her husband Franz Abramson, daughter Lori Simpson, sister Jean Caskey and brother-in-law Stan Caskey. She was the loving mother to Carol Lepich of Shingle Springs and Gregory Abramson of Dayton, Washington and doting grandmother to three grandsons and one great granddaughter. She is survived by her sister Barbara Pyuro and brother-in-law Thomas Pyuro of Plymouth, Michigan. Gloria enjoyed diverse interests such as ikebana (Japanese flower arranging), music and interior decorating. An advocate of lifelong learning, she loved taking college classes. She was an active member of Light of the Hills Lutheran Church and served the County of El Dorado as a peer counselor. Gloria worked in financial services for various companies throughout the years and as a financial officer for Rescue Union School District, retiring in 1986. During retirement she was the main caregiver for her mother, aunt and husband. Gloria loved her family and always put them first.
