-- View a Video -- Remembering Irene Irene Rae Nelson December 11, 1938 - January 26, 2012 Irene passed away at the age of 73 in Shingle Springs, CA. where she was a resident for the past 15 years. Irene was a loving wife of Joe for 54 years. She is survived by 3 sons, Mark (Mariann), Marty (Jennifer), Jeff (Elaine), 7 grandchildren, Heather(Joe), Matthew, Jeffery, Ryan, Jason, Amanda and Danielle (Eric), 1 great-grandchild Olivia. Also survived by sibling Gale Jones. Irene was born in York, Ne. Married Joe in 1956, moved to California in 1959 where they have made their home ever since. Irene had great love for her family, friends and animals. She also loved to cook and garden.
