Jake was an active, creative and caring soul. He had a passion for dirt bike riding, mixed martial arts, river rafting and kayaking, snowboarding and sketching. But the times when Jake was the happiest were those when he was with his nephews and nieces, who truly brought out his joy. He was never afraid to play, and show them that he was still a kid at heart. He was known as "fun Uncle Jakey". We take comfort in knowing that he will be welcomed in Heaven by those loved ones who have gone before us, to live in eternal peace. Jake is survived by his parents Linda and Larry Spies, his sisters Theresa and Stephanie, brother Brian, brother in-law Duane, and sister in-law Becky, all from El Dorado County. Jake was a devoted uncle, adored by his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was a beloved member of the Spies and Farish families, including his maternal grandmother and dozens of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jake attended Gold Trail Elementary and graduated from Ponderosa Highschool in 1999. He was a veteran, who proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, enlisting in 2007.
