James O January died Dec. 17th, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born in Fresno, Ca on Aug. 9, 1930. He attended schools there and married Roseanne Bratsberg until her death from cancer. They had two daughters, Kim Towart and Tammy Brown. Jim served in the Marines and later went to work for UnoCal. His job took him from Southern Calif. to Alaska. He moved to El Dorado Hills in 1989 and married Betty Bradshaw Johnson. Jim quickly made lasting friends in the SIRS, golfing, travel and social activities like bridge and dinners. He loved his western country music. Jim had a friendly easy humor and made many friends. Jim and Betty traveled to Europe, Australia and many countries of the Pacific Rim as well as the East coast visiting historical sites. With the camper and fifth wheel time was spent traveling the west and wintering in Arizona. Jim's great interests were football, sailing and golfing with friends. Jim leaves his two daughters, Kim and Tammy and four grandchildren, Dustin and Jonathan Brown, and Lauren and Elle Montgomery. Also Betty's three son's, David Johnson, Jack and Charlie Givens and daughter, Sandra Spalding and nine grandchildren that looked to him as "Grandpa Jim", Mandy, Kendal, Steph, and Emilie Johnson, Jimmy, Rick and Danny Clark, Elizabeth and Joshua Givens and two great grandsons,Kent and Luke Clark. Jim is greatly missed by his beloved family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations could be made to the American Cancer Society or the Clarksville Region Historical Society of El Dorado Hills.
