James Joseph Sobczak, 77 years, passed into God's loving arms on Sunday, August 19, 2018, following a long and valiant battle with heart disease. He was surrounded by the warmth of his loving family. Jim was born in Buffalo, New York and considered Detroit, Michigan his home town. He was strongly devoted to his large family and leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 35 years, Nancy. Jim is survived by his seven children: Jim and wife Beth, Dave and wife Aubin, Ron, Chris, Debbie and husband Scott, Glenn, and Kenny and wife Tamara, as well as eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by six brothers and sisters: Fran, Bob, Don, Mary, Janet and Barbi. Throughout his life he was a strong leader with an unparalleled code of ethics, including his much cherished Eagle Scout rank. Jim was highly respected and successful in his professional career. His sense of morality, generosity and faith gave him a presence that was felt by all. Jim was passionate about golf, loved to socialize, a master of crossword puzzles, and an avid reader. His positive outlook, loyalty and sense of humor made him fun to be near. He will be dearly missed by countless family and friends across the country. Viewing to be held Monday, August 27, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Green Valley Mortuary (3004 Alexanderite Drive, Rescue CA 95672). Funeral to be held Tuesday, August 28 at 11:00 am at the Holy Trinity Church (3111 Tierra Dios Dr., El Dorado Hills, CA 95672).
