Jason Robert Tanger

JASON ROBERT TANGER, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 22, 2026, at the age of 50. Jason was born in Los Alamitos California on March 3, 1975, to Robert (Bob) and Mary Ann (Kopus) Tanger. Jason grew up between Cameron Park and Santa Maria California. He graduated from Santa Maria High School. In June of 1995 Jason joined the United States Navy. While in the Navy he achieved many awards, such as National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy “E” Ribbon, Navy & Marine Corp Achievement Medal and Expert Piston Medal. After leaving the Navy, Jason moved back to Cameron Park where he married his beloved wife, Tracy. Jason and Tracy were married on September 6, 2003, and ultimately moved to Placerville where he became the IT Director for the City of Placerville.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Robert (Bob) Tanger and brother Blair Tanger. Jason also leaves behind a loving wife of 22 years Tracy, two sons, Lucas Tanger and Taven Tanger. Along with his family, Jason leaves behind his mother Mary (Butch) Simmons, sister Kelly (Brian) Miller, brother Christopher (Jessica) Tanger, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Jason had a love for the outdoors that was unmatched. He loved the ocean, surfing, and camping with his father and brothers. He spent countless hours in his garden. He loved his adopted pets as well. Shadow, Bear and Baby.
