Rescue, California
Jeanette Grace Andersen Gainsbrugh, born in Des Moines, Iowa on January 10th, 1949 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 2nd 2013. She passed away peacefully in her home of 22 years in Placerville, CA. She was a devoted wife, mother, and sister and is greatly missed by the many people who she touched with her compassion, generosity, and love. Jeanette spent most of her youth in Fremont California, growing up with her 5 sisters and their loving Mother, Alice Fernandez. Jeanette traveled abroad, spending time all over Europe and living for a while as a nanny in northern Scottland. She met her husband Jonathan in a London Coffee shop not knowing that they had previously lived within a block of each other in Haight Ashbury, San Francisco. Shortly after returning to the US, they became followers of Christ and were married in Sonoma CA in 1971. Over the years, they shared their love for Christ through ministering to the hurting and needy. Their first daughter, Heaven, was born in 1972 and over the years their family continued to grow with the birth of Christmas, Christian and Grace. Jeanette had a deep love and respect for all children and she greatly enjoyed being a mother to her family and all she knew. Her love and kindness was obvious to all who met her and children immediately recognized that she was a kindred spirit. In 1991 Jeanette and family moved to their current home in Placerville. Jeanette loved living in the foothills and over the years nurtured peacocks, angora goats, rabbits, chickens, a horse and a wolf just to a mention a few. She grew many different fruits, vegetables and flowers in her garden. She was so proud of her climbing red rose bush. She loved nature and being outside working with her hands. Jeanette was a friend to all and always willing to help anyone in need. She gave with open hands and never expected anything in return or kept anything in reserve. Over the years her kindness brightened many people's days, her compassion helped support people during difficult times, and her determination helped accomplish almost anything she put her mind to. She is survived by her husband Jonathan, her children: Heaven, Christmas, Christian and Grace, as well as their spouses: John, Alexis, Gus and her grandchildren Nicholas, Keona, Elliana, and Naomi. She leaves behind her sisters, Cookie Graham, Patty Evansizer, Vickie Ivey, Cheryl Serota and Alice Archer. Mom loved the story of "The Little Prince". In her words, "What we love, we keep forever." A memorial service for friends and family will be held at Green Valley Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday April 9th. A Celebration of Life service for the broader church community will be held at Real Life Church in Natomas on Friday, April 12th at 11 a.m.
