Gerald Clark Nobis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, passed away on February 1st, 2024 in Folsom, California. He was born on December 31st, 1950 in Berkeley to Harlan and June Nobis and lived a life filled with love and dedication to his family.
Jerry leaves behind his loving wife Crystal; devoted son David and daughter-in-law Emily; cherished daughter Cheranne and son-in-law Mike; adored grandchildren Giovanni, Alanna, Dominic and Alexa; as well as his sisters Connie (Tom), Kathi (Richard) and Carla (Larry). His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew him best.
Throughout his life Jerry made a significant impact both professionally and personally. As CFO for over 40 years at Western Precooling Systems he demonstrated unwavering commitment to excellence. His leadership was marked by integrity and compassion that earned him the respect of everyone he worked with.
In addition to his professional accomplishments Jerry also dedicated himself to coaching basketball at Irvington High School in Fremont. He inspired countless young athletes through his passion for the game while instilling values of teamwork and sportsmanship that extended far beyond the court.
Above all else though it was Jerry’s devotion to God and family that defined him most profoundly. He found joy in spending time with loved ones whether it be sharing stories around the dinner table or cheering from the sidelines at sporting events. His love knew no bounds - he was always there when needed most offering guidance with wisdom gained from a lifetime of experiences.
Golf held a special place in Jerry’s heart where he found solace on lush fairways surrounded by friends old and new alike. The crack of a baseball bat or swish of a basketball net brought him immense pleasure - these were simple pleasures that brought immeasurable joy into his life.
Services were held on February 24th at Green Valley Mortuary in Rescue where family and friends gathered together to honor Jerry’s memory.
Though we mourn our loss deeply we take comfort knowing that Jerry’s spirit will live on within each person whose life he touched during his time here with us. We will carry forward memories of this remarkable man who taught us what it means to truly live fully every day until we meet again.
