John Francis Sullivan

John Francis Sullivan, 34, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Placerville, CA. A graveside service will be held at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA on July 8 at 11:30 AM. The service will be immediately followed by a celebration of John's life at American Legion Post 208, 1305 N. 1st Street, Dixon, CA. https://goo.gl/maps/J4CzEpR6pWv Born in San Jose, CA to Stephen F Sullivan and Lisa J Fultz (Hansen), John lived in Mountain View, CA for the first 9 years of his life before moving to Rescue, CA. After completing High School, John enlisted in the United States Navy in 2004 and was stationed aboard the USS Nitze in Norfolk, VA where he achieved the rank of an Engineman First Class. He served an extended deployment in the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf during his time of service. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 2011 but continued to serve in the US Navy Reserve. He was most recently employed as a delivery driver for Suburban Propane in Placerville CA, and had been working towards his AA degree at Folsom Lake College. John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, camping and snowboarding. John is survived by his wife Rachel Fuller Sullivan, his mother Lisa Hansen of Rescue CA, his father and stepmother Stephen and Colleen Sullivan of Temple TX, his siblings Daniel Sullivan, James Sullivan, Kiernan Sullivan of Temple TX, and Janine Sullivan and Brian Hansen of Rescue CA. He will be deeply missed by many friends and family members who loved him dearly.
