LaJune Howle, 88, passed away December 14th after a short illness. She was the last of her generation to pass and was preceded in death by her oldest son Michael Koepke. Her husband of almost 22 years, Willis Howle, passed several days after she did. Survivors include her three children, Lynn (Kevin) Powers, Kimberly (Paul) Cappa and Eric Kersthold, daughter-in-law, Laura Koepke, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, her stepfamily The Howles, and the two step children she helped raise, Linda King and Ross Kersthold and their families who always remained in her life. She was born and raised on farm in Iowa, then raised her family in Vallejo. She was a beautiful woman of faith, who enjoyed church, sewing, square dancing, NASCAR, Eric's traveling soccer team, camping with her family and a good boat ride. She was a homemaker many years then worked and retired from Kaiser Permanente. After retiring she enjoyed international trips to China, Europe and a train ride across Canada. But what she really loved was traveling in her motorhome. In 1998 she met Willis Howle, they married and made Livingston, Texas their home for 18 years. They enjoyed many years of RVing and cruises. Three years ago we were blessed that they moved back to California to be closer to family. There were many fun family gatherings with the Powers and Luckenbach families, four generations of zoo and fair outings and regular Mother/Daughters lunch days. We are blessed we had her for so long and thankful for a life well lived. Private memorial at a later date.
