Lana Jannette was born the 5th of six daughters to Eva & George Cleek on February 26, 1946 in Livermore,CA. She passed away on March 24, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. She was a homemaker for 47 years. She held an AA in Criminal Justice. She loved her family more than anything. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by loved ones and hearing their laughter. She led a good life and often told stories to her family about adventures from her younger days in Australia, dancing on Record Hop and meeting the Beatles. She grew up with 5 sisters Pam,Patsy,Nina,Shirle & Cynthia (Jinx). In 1966 she would meet and marry the love of her life Richard Shaffer and have 2 daughters, Nina & Kimberly. She doted all through life on her family. She adored her 4 wonderful grandchildren Ryan,Emily,Brian & Matthew, about whom she took much pride in talking about. They were her joy in life when they came along. She was loved very much by her family. She was a wonderful sister,wife,mother & grandmother. She will be missed by all whose live's she touched. She was one of kind. Lana is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years Richard J. Shaffer, her daughters Nina Shaffer of Camino, Kimberly McHale (Terry)of Elk Grove and her grandchildren Ryan Brough of Sacramento and Emily, Brian & Matthew McHale of Elk Grove. She is also survived by her sisters Patricia Muller of Livermore, Shirle Viada of Willets, Cynthia Rader of Livermore and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Lana is predeceased in death by her mother & father George & Eva Cleek and her sisters Pamella Cleek & Nina Cleek. A funeral mass will be held in her honor on Saturday April 5 at 1:00pm at St. Michael's Church in Livermore. A reception will follow at Terra Mia in Livermore.
