Larry Erich Fischer passed away peacefully on November 21, 2021 at his home in Roseville, CA surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Fischer, two sons, Erich and Gregory, three grandsons, Seth, Nicholas, and Gabriel, and one great grandson, Ronan. Born in Kansas, Larry spent most of his life in California. He graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and received his masters from UCLA. He spent most of his career in the field of thermodynamics and nuclear energy, and was a recognized expert in these fields, having been listed as a primary or secondary inventor on eight separate patents. He worked for several firms over his 40+ year career, including General Electric and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he retired. A long-time resident of Los Gatos, CA, Larry was a devoted family man that always served others and took great pride and joy in caring for his family. He loved spending time with his wife travelling on many trips, as well as attending gatherings with family and friends. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed designing and building home improvement projects in his spare time. He was especially known by family and friends for his dry sense of humor and cracking jokes at the dinner table. Later in life he loved seeing his grandsons grow and watching them play, and felt fortunate to see his great-grandson before he passed. Friends and family are encouraged to post their memories of Larry at greenvalleymortuary.com.
