"One day one smile, one minute one memory, one hill one road, one cloud one breeze, one friend one sorrow" On June 4th, 2010 Louis Mucci passed away in his home in El Dorado Hills after a 2 year battle with cancer. He will be missed by his wife Peg, sons Louis of Concord and Michael and his wife Jody and grandchildren Alisa and Matthew of San Jose, sister Peggy Heimeyer of Millbrae, and brothers Darryl and Kevin of Medford, MA as well as many great friends and extended family. Lou was born in Boston, MA on November 1, 1944 to Louis Mucci Jr. and Madalyn Slocomb Mucci. After high school, Lou entered the US Air Force serving in Texas, Turkey, and Washington, D.C. He attended college in Boston, then moved to California in 1972. Lou worked for the California State Lottery for 22 years, retiring in December 2008. He was responsible for overseeing gaming contracts for many years before moving to IT Security . While with the lottery, he received several awards for his accomplishments and was highly respected for his expertise and humor. Because of his fighting spirit, a trip to Italy with best friends and family visits were possible in 2009. He loved having fun with family, golfing, trips to Lake Tahoe, cheering for the Red Sox and spending time with friends. Lou will always be remembered for his quick wit and generosity to family and friends. Please join the family in a celebration of Lou's life Friday, June 11, 2010, at 11:00 am. A Funeral Mass at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in El Dorado Hills will be followed by a gathering at the church. We will have a "memory table" if anyone wants to bring pictures or memorabilia. Inurnment will be in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery at a later date. Lou was proud to be a veteran and in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to any Veterans Organization or the charity of your choice.
