On Monday, May 23, 2022, Lyle Eugene Eickert, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 91. Lyle was born at home on May 17, 1931 in Chadwick, IL to Julius and Hazel (Kahler) Eickert. He was the sixth born of ten children. On June 5, 1965, he married Marie Eickert. They raised two children, Michael and Lisa. Prior to receiving his English degree from the University of San Francisco, he served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1954 during the Korean War. He began his career in education as a junior high math teacher in San Francisco, CA. He later became the Associate Superintendent of Business Services for San Francisco Unified School District which he held for 20 years. The next 30 years of his career were spent in the greater Sacramento area. For 10 years he maintained the role of Associate Superintendent of Business Services for Sacramento Unified School District. Later, he served for 10 years as a Board Member for the Buckeye Union School District. Finally, he retired after serving the Cameron Park Community Service District as the CC&R Director for 10 years. Lyle was passionate about his community. He was frequently seen chatting with acquaintances and close friends at popular social hubs in the area. He never refused to sit down for a coffee with a friend. Aside from socializing, Lyle was an avid collector of Hard Rock Cafe pins and polar bears. He was known for his contagious smile, quick wit, and his kindhearted spirit. Lyle is survived by his wife Marie, his two children, Lisa and Michael, and his grandchildren, Haley, Wesley, Parker, and Tyler. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, July 8 at 6:30 in the evening at the Cameron Park Community Service District Assembly Hall.
