In Loving Memory of Maddox George Greco
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maddox George Greco, who passed away on June 21st, 2025, at the age of 19. He was born on September 19th, 2005, in Sacramento, California, to Kimberly Dawn Greco and Michael George Greco.
Maddox was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and cherished friend to many. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his caring, pure-hearted, imaginative spirit. His kindness and creativity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Even before he was 2 years old, Maddox was obsessed with tools, and this grew into a passion for woodworking, electronics, building robots, or any contraption he could dream up. His creations included an electric guitar, a hoverboard, a potato cannon, a longboard, a line-sensing robot, and an alarm system for his bedroom. Even as a kid, all he wanted to do was help his family; he helped with many projects, including creating a wooden furniture set for his mom. A lot of these projects he created with the help of his now late grandfather, Peter Kazak.
Maddox always enjoyed time with his family and friends. As a child, Maddox spent a lot of time with his Grandma Victoria and sister Katerina (then Madalin or Maddy). Some of their favorite activities included riding bicycles, hide and seek, playing dress up, and playing “detective”. He also would hunt with his Grandfather, Mike Greco, known as “Pa”, and take trips to Subway where he would enjoy a foot-long sub. He loved going to his Grandmother Cheri Greco, known as “Memaw” and Pa’s yacht club, where he would enjoy fishing, gambling (with coins), and boating.
He was an amazing older brother to Kadin, helping him build his own gaming computer, helping with IT issues, teaching Kadin his love of tools, and how to build and construct things. They started gaming with each other, and Maddox taught him how to build MOD packs. He loved spending time riding bikes and camping with his lifelong best friend, Rowan Vickery. His other best friend, Grant Andre, he met while rowing for Capital Crew. He also made many friends with his love of biking.
Maddox started his education at Sacramento Waldorf School and then homeschooled for 5 years. For middle school and high school, he attended a charter school and then transferred to Laurel Springs High School, where he graduated in June of 2024.
Just after his 17th birthday, Maddox started working for his family’s company, FUSE3, and worked up to being a Service Technician II. Maddox loved working at FUSE3, supporting clients, solving technical issues, and spending time with his co-workers who brought him joy.
Besides working for FUSE3, he was working with his friend Grant Andre on Ironpoint Financial, a financial technology company, and completed his part of the company, the coding and IT side, shortly before his death. His business partners, Kevin Matsumoto and Grant Andre, are working to continue his legacy.
Outside of everything IT, he loved 3D printing, welding, video games, cars, dirt bikes, and motorcycles, anything with wheels and a motor.
He lived and breathed riding, working on his bikes, and biking trips were the only thing he would take PTO for. It brought him to life, gave him energy, joy, and happiness. Ultimately, it was a bike crash that took his life; he passed doing what he enjoyed most. Riding was his biggest joy.
Maddox’s love for bikes led him to want to purchase a home in the foothills near his family and his favorite trails. Just days before his death, he shared his plans to purchase land and a modular home to start his own independent life.
Though Maddox’s time with us was far too brief, the memories he created will be forever treasured by his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Kimberly Greco and Michael Greco, his siblings Katerina Greco and Kadin Greco, plus his grandparents, Bea Kazak, Cheri Greco, Mike Greco, and Victoria Hansen. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
