Martin David Moreno
Nov. 9, 1961 - Sept. 27, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martin David Moreno, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Born in Santa Monica, California, Martin lived a life filled with faith, creativity, hard work, and love for others. He attended El Dorado High School, where he enjoyed drama, played piano, and sang in the All-State Choir. His passion for music and the arts remained with him throughout his life.
While attending Brigham Young University, Martin served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Venezuela. He later worked at Sundance in Provo Canyon, Utah, where he had the memorable opportunity to meet Robert Redford.
Martin's strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit led him to many opportunities. He was among the first employees hired at McDonald's in Placerville, quickly becoming assistant manager. He also worked at Pinkberry and California Crisp and proudly co-owned a poke restaurant in Santa Clara that continues to thrive today.
Martin spent many years living in Portland and San Jose before returning to the Placerville area.
A gifted cook, Martin found joy in bringing people together through delicious meals, laughter, and meaningful connections.
He is survived by his father, Danny Moreno; sister, Alisa Moreno Ledford; sister-in-law, Christine Moreno; nephews, Daniel Moreno, Spencer Ledford and nieces, Mackenzie Hendricks and Nicole Mora.
Martin's warmth, generosity, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Services will held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 3275 Cedar Ravine Rd, Placerville, CA 95667 at 11:00am.
