Marylee Roberts Montandon of El Dorado Hills, returned to her maker on September 10, 2010. She was at the Mercy Hospital in Folsom when she went on. The cause of her death was failing health. Marylee was twenty-six days short of reaching her 100th birthday. Marylee was born in the little town of Pilot Point, Texas, the daughter of James Pinkney and Wilhelmina Lindburg Roberts, and the youngest of six children. She received her BA at Bethany, Oklahoma and her MA at Univ. of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colorado. She completed courses in Special Education, Remedial Reading and Psychology from San Jose State Univ. and Univ. of California at Berkeley, plus an Art Degree from San Francisco State Univ in SF, Ca. Marylee was an accomplished artist and had many showings. She belonged to the Burlingame Art Society, Western Art Society, Eastern Star, PEO, and Junior League. She was a life member of both the Oklahoma and California Education and Teachers Associations, and was a Phi Delta Kappa in the National Education Fraternity. After retirement, she traveled extensively throughout Europe with her husband. Preceeded in death by Carlos Morrison Montandon, her spouse of 60 years and her son, C. Morris Montandon. Her daughter, Jenny Lynn and her son-in-law, Wally Richardson, her grandchildren, Linda, Deborah, Stanley, Susan, Tiffany and Darcy, survive her. Nine Great grandchildren, Jennifer, Sean, Carlee, Danielle and Connor, Tiffany's kid's; Bj, Shelby, Alyssa and Ryan survive her. The memorial will be on Saturday, September 25th at 2 pm at the United Methodist Church, 3301 Green Valley Road, Rescue, California.
