Born December 20, 1924 in Dallas, TX to Susan W. Pearce Lester and Max Milton Lester,Sr. He passed away on June 1, 2010 at Mercy Folsom Hospital, Folsom, CA at the age of 85. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Mildred (Mike) Lester and four children, Diana Coco Russell (John) of Cool,CA, Davis Lester (Sheryl) of Woodland Hills,CA, D'Arcy Ramirez (Victor) of Riverside,CA and Lisa Clements(Wm)of Los Angeles,CA; 3 stepchildren, Gary Graeber(Nalini) of Nevada City, CA, Jeanie Graeber of Sacramento,CA and Diane Pratt of Elk Grove,CA; 7 grandchildren, Madeline and Olivia Lester; Alec, Siena and Alyssa Ramirez; Willy and Isabel Clements. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Shelby Lester of Houston, TX. Max graduated from Waco High School, Waco TX 1943 and University of Texas, Austin in 1952 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Navy from Feb.15,1944 to June 8,1946 when he was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Seaman First Class. His career took him into the Aerospace Field, mostly with Rocketdyne, as an Industrial Engineer until 1969 when he went to work for the County of Los Angeles until his retirement in 1993. He held the designation of Professional Engineer (PE). He was also very active in the MTM (Methods Time Management) Assn. After his retirement, he and "Mike" enjoyed square dancing and traveling the U. S., Canada, Mexico and the Virgin Islands. After the Northridge Earthquake in 1994, he headed up the Board of Trustees at St. Paul's UMC in Tarzana and was instrumental in getting the repairs done to the facility. In his younger years, he loved deer hunting but in his later years, his all consuming hobby was Politics. When he had the stroke, he was in the process of preparing a paper for the Tea Party people telling them what they should be doing. Max was a jovial, sweet, strong presence, a master storyteller who loved his family and extended family very much. He will be missed by all who knew him. Memorial Service will be held at Foothills United Methodist Church, 3301 Green Valley Rd., Rescue, CA 95762 on Sat., June 26, 2010 at 11:00 am.
