Olivia Lira
February 27, 1950 – May 2, 2025
With love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Olivia Lira, who died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 2, 2025, in Roseville, California, at the age of 75 after a short battle with terminal lung disease.
Born on February 27, 1950, in Fresno, California and raised in Mountain View, she was the youngest of 12 children. She graduated from Mountain View High School in 1968. She lived mostly in the South Bay Area until moving to Folsom after retirement to be closer to her children.
A dedicated Front Receptionist/Medical Assistant Olivia had worked for Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara for 30 years until she retired in 2017. Her work ethic was unparalleled - rarely missing a day and earning awards for her commitment and excellence.
Olivia had a zest for life that touched everyone around her. She found delight in dancing, (especially line dancing), listening to music, growing vegetables in her garden, watching romance movies, going to church, and embraced new experiences with spirit and grace. Her cooking was cherished by all who knew her. Her potato salad was especially loved at family gatherings. Olivia found joy in the little things, shared laughter, and offered kindness in everyday moments. A Christian woman her entire life, she was devoted to the Seventh-Day Adventist faith. She was a member of the Granite Bay Hilltop Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Olivia enjoyed spending her time in the company of those she loved the most: with her large family, many friends, church family, and her close-knit mobile home community. She was a devoted mother to her children Cynthia (Carlos) Plascencia, Christopher “Rocky” Pizano (Rosanne), Nicholas Pizano, and Mark-David (Lauren) Clennell, and a proud grandmother to Makayla, Isabella, and Felix. Her beloved dog, Arie, was her constant companion bringing her comfort and happiness every day.
Olivia is survived by her siblings Annie Ochoa, Phillip Lira, Esther Perez, Linda Hernandez, Elodee Gonzales, and Richard Lira.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jose Lira and Jesus “Jessie” Lira-Rothgaber, sisters Nadine Homen, Josephine Sandoval, Stella Lira; and brothers Manuel Lira and Joe Lira.
