Steve Holler
Following a long and successful career in corporate and brand design Steve has directed his interests toward the fine art of painting. While active in the applied arts Steve maintained his interest in drawing and painting. This now has lead to a full-time practice as a fine art painter. Steve paints in acrylics on canvas and concentrates on subject matter related to the rural landscape. Having spent the last fifty years as a resident of Northern California Steve has enjoyed the beautiful environment that he calls home. His painting subjects come from the drama of the Pacific coastline to the tall trees of the Sierra foothills.

"My point-of-view when creating a new image is to capture the unique personality of the subject's place in its environment. How the elements of a composition relate to one another in form, scale, color, and light. It is my intension for the viewer to not only understand and identify with the subject, but for them to feel an emotional attachment to the painting. Does the painted image bring back memories of the past or recognition of the present? How does the viewer respond to the emotional personality of the color palette used throughout the painting? Does the application of paint stimulate an excitement in viewing the painted subject? Ultimately, I would like my painting to introduce a new experience for the viewer as they explore familiar subjects and locations." SH

Steve Holler's paintings have been viewed in local and regional shows and publications. Twice juried into the "National Mother Lode Art Exhibition" and selected for "The Artist's Mind" Placerville Arts membership show at the Bank of America Gallery, Harris Center.
