Shirley Funk passed away 27 January 2011 in Roseville, California. Shirley was born to Roy and Lola Thompson in Lynndyl, Utah on July 8, 1929 and is survived by her brother, Kent Roy Thompson of Kawaii, Hawaii. She was married to Donald Olsen Funk who preceded her in death. They were the parents of five sons and two daughters, oldest to youngest as follows: Karen Marie (Funk) Rowen of Provo, Utah, Dr. Paul Donald Funk of Yuba City, California, Dr. David Roy Funk of Rocklin, California, Pamela Jane (Funk) Russo of Lodi, California, Steven Lynn Funk of Fair Oaks, California, Jeffery Lee Funk of Rancho Cordova, California, and Kevin Jay Funk of Folsom, California. She had 26 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Shirley and Don retired from Don's Career in the USAF residing in their home in Folsom, California for over 38 years. Shirley was active in serving in many callings in the LDS church and owned and operated her own business, Special Effects, for 20 years. Her hobbies and interests included dancing, skiing (water and snow), sewing, cooking, reading, church callings, and computer. Services will be held Saturday, 5 February, from 10-ll:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Main Avenue Chapel.
