Her family moved to Akron, Ohio in 1961 and then to Newcomerstown, Ohio 1968. After graduating from Newcomerstown High School in 1971, she graduated from Jean Skinner Modeling Academy and supported herself for two years as a runway and tearoom model for JC Penney's. In addition to modeling, Vicki also participated in various contests and pageants throughout Ohio. She met Tom in Akron (OH) on May 2, 1973, and they spent almost 50 years together. Tom and Vicki moved to Sacramento, CA in 1978 and were married by Monsignor Edward Kavanagh at a small ceremony at St. Rose's Catholic Church on May 2, 1981. They celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary this year. In addition to her husband and mother, Vicki leaves her beloved family: two daughters, Jacqueline Seich Cabral (Kyle) of El Dorado Hills, CA; Teresa Seich Mannering (Bradley) of Cameron Park, CA; four cherished grandchildren, Zane, Ian, Isla, and Josephine; two sisters, Teresa Diane Buzille (Charlie) and Cynthia Louise Basner; a brother, Randall Edward Rivers; several other relatives, extended family and many friends. Vicki was selfless with her time and involved in her community in addition to her full-time work. She volunteered at her children's schools and with their Girl Scout troops; served on multiple boards including the PTA and HOA; wrote for multiple publications including the local paper and was active in each of her churches as a religious education teacher, usher, and special events volunteer. She attended St. Rose's Catholic Church (Sacramento, CA), San Francisco Solano Catholic Church (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) and Holy Trinity Catholic Church (El Dorado Hills, CA). She loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening, camping, playing with her four grandbabies, bass fishing and her newfound love of floating and fly fishing the Green River in Utah. She was a talented illustrator, painter and crafter, who excelled at any task requiring an artistic eye or creative touch. She was an incredible hostess and spent an exceptional amount of energy entertaining her family and friends each week for dinner and on holidays.
