Vrndavani came into our world on 9-08-1999 all smiles and happy. She had a tough go of it for the first few months having to have a feeding tube inserted down her throat to make sure she got enough calories which I am sure was very unpleasant for her. As time went on, she began to eat without it and then developed her chewing abilities as her new teeth showed up and never gave up that oral fixation. The reason for the arm braces you see in some pictures, was to keep those hands out of her mouth while in public. We were over taken by helpers from everywhere:(Shriners, El Dorado County, El Dorado County Office of Education, Aids for Daily Living, Kaiser Hospice, Alta CA Regional Center, CA-HI Elks, UCSF Medical Center, The Permanente Medical Group, Family Connections, Always Home, Pride & Joy, CA Dept. of Health Services, Medi-Cal, SSDI, Vista Child Therapy, SOFT Support Group and all of the above staffers). We greatly appreciated the help through the years of joy, thank you, we could have never done it alone. She learned many things with the help from the above and began at a very early age attending school at Winnie Wakeley SMILE class in Camino CA.
