William John Myers Jr. Obituary (1941

William J. Myers, Jr. May 23, 1041 - August 8, 2024 William John Myers, Jr., 83, died August 8, 2024 in Folsom, California. Bill was born in Orange, New Jersey on May 23, 1941 to William and Rebekah Myers. He leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley Booth Myers, and their daughters Tedda Duhey (Philip), Jacki Leitch (Toby), and Kristen Herron (John), as well as his brother Gordon Myers, and his grandchildren Jacob and Sean Duhey, Samantha and Madeline Leitch, and Kanaan, Fiona, and Ryland Herron, along with devoted cousins and many nieces and nephews. Bill had a strong work ethic, which began after he graduated from the University of Montana in 1964. He spent over twenty years with the ExxonMobil Corporation, moving up and with them from California to Houston, Texas to Columbus, OH to Pittsburgh, PA and back to California. Afterwards, he became an independent broker for service stations, then continued his success in the industry with Beneto Bulk Transport, Cox Petroleum and KAG Tank Lines. He appreciated a wide range of music, and shared his great love for it with his friends and family including his grandchildren. Bill and Shirley enjoyed the Hollywood Bowl, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, and the Summer Concert Series each year at Lake Mission Viejo. He spent much time in his backyard gardening and birdwatching, but also enjoyed attending his grandsons’ sporting events, his granddaughters’ cheer and dance competitions, and shared an appreciation for museums and many other educational experiences with his grandchildren. Bill and Shirley also traveled all over the world, and throughout the United States with many memorable family trips with their daughters, and eventually with their children, son-in-laws and grandchildren as well.
