William Zickefoose

William E. Zickefoose, Jr. passed away at the age of 83 on January 3, 2015 in Placerville, California. He was born on March 15, 1931 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He leaves his beloved wife, Julie; three daughters, Lori Spiekerman, Terry Lucas and Kelly Schupp; one step-daughter, Angela Hill; six grandchildren, Jessica, Kaitlin, Michael, Rachel, Emma and Sara and two great-grandsons, C.J. and William. Bill started his career as a speech pathologist with the Elks Special Project working with children with brain injuries, but soon began to explore the field of Myofunctional Therapy in which he worked for nearly 60 years. A foremost expert in the field, Bill founded the International Association of Myofunctional Therapy in 1972. He was also the director of the Academy of Oral Myofunctional Therapy - International. With Julie, he authored several books and travelled extensively to lecture and train medical and dental professionals. Bill loved to play his guitar, watch old Western movies and travel, especially to see his dear friends in Japan and France.
